| 2. * | فذلك الذي يدع اليتيم | fXlk alXy yd` alytym | So that (is) who turns down/repels the orphan. | That is the one who mistreats the orphans. | Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness), | ||||
| 3. * | ولايحض على طعام المسكين | wlayHD `li T`am almskyn | And does not urge/insight/influence on feeding the poorest of poor/poor oppressed. | And does not advocate the feeding of the poor. | And encourages not the feeding of the indigent. | ||||
| 4. * | فويل للمصلين | fwyl llmSlyn | So calamity/scandal/woe to the prayers (praying people). | And woe to those who observe the contact prayers (Salat) - | So woe to the worshippers | ||||
| 5. * | الذين هم عن صلاتهم ساهون | alXyn hm `n Slathm sahwn | Those whom they are about their prayers negligent/inattentive. | who are totally heedless of their prayers. | Who are neglectful of their prayers, | ||||
| 6. * | الذين هم يراؤون | alXyn hm yraWwn | Those whom they are pretending/showing off (what they are not). | They only show off. | Those who (want but) to be seen (of men), | ||||
| 7. * | ويمنعون الماعون | wymn`wn alma`wn | And they prevent/stop the charity. | And they forbid charity. | But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs. | ||||
